Privacy Policy

Yuzic is a personal music player and streaming app built with React Native. This Privacy Policy explains how Yuzic handles user data and permissions across all supported platforms, including Android and iOS.

Yuzic is designed to function without collecting personal data. Any optional data collection is strictly opt-in and can be disabled at any time.


1.0 Information We Collect

1.1 Default Behavior

By default, Yuzic does not collect, store, or share personal information.

  • All music playback occurs entirely on your device.
  • If you connect to your own self-hosted server, all communication happens directly between your device and that server.
  • No data is routed through or stored on any developer-controlled servers.


1.2 Optional Analytics (Opt-In)

Yuzic offers an optional analytics feature to help improve app performance and usability.

  • Analytics are disabled by default
  • Analytics are collected only if you explicitly opt in via the app’s settings
  • Analytics data is anonymous and not used to identify you personally

If enabled, analytics may include:

  • App interaction events (for example, feature usage)
  • Basic device and app information (such as app version or operating system version)
  • Diagnostic and performance data

Yuzic does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or account credentials
  • Audio content, messages, or media files
  • Precise location data
  • Advertising identifiers

You can disable analytics at any time in the app’s settings. Disabling analytics immediately stops data collection.


2.0 Audio Permissions

Yuzic may request microphone or “record audio” permission because some operating systems require it for audio playback routing.

  • The app does not record, store, analyze, or transmit microphone input
  • The permission is used only to enable smooth and uninterrupted music playback
  • No voice input or audio capture features are present


3.0 Third-Party Integrations

Optional integrations (such as Last.fm scrobbling or connections to your own media server) may involve third-party services.

  • Yuzic only stores the required information on your device, no where else
  • Any data stored is limited to what is required for the integration to function
  • You should review the privacy policies of any third-party services you choose to connect

If analytics are enabled, Yuzic uses a third-party analytics provider solely for anonymous usage analytics.


4.0 Data Security

  • Yuzic does not retain personal user data
  • Any optional analytics data is transmitted securely
  • All server connections use secure HTTPS protocols when available


5.0 Your Rights and Choices

You are always in control of your data:

  1. You may enable or disable analytics at any time in the app’s settings
  2. You may revoke microphone permissions at any time in your device settings
  3. The app will continue to function normally for music playback even if analytics are disabled
